Description
Director Richard Linklater’s adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s novel about a highly addictive and brain-altering drug that is ravaging the Los Angeles of the future. Reeves plays Bob Arctor, an undercover cop in too deep, who leads a double life by dutifully reporting to his superiors while effectively having abandoned whatever normal existence he had for the new drug. Features a talented supporting cast that includes Woody Harrelson, Winona Ryder and Robert Downey Jr. Like a graphic novel come to life, this film utilizes live action photography overlaid with an advanced animation process to create a haunting, highly stylized vision of the future. The technology was first employed in Linklater’s 2001 film Waking Life and he has perfected the art here.
