Description
Former Saturday Night Live cast-mates, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, team-up with writer/director Michael McCullers to tell this wacky, warm story of two women and nine months that will change their lives. Fey is pitch-perfect as super-successful, single businesswoman, Kate Holbrook. At 37, her busy career seems to be overshadowed by her loudly-ticking biological time-clock. After putting her work ahead of a personal life for years, Kate's life screeches to a halt when she learns she may not succeed at something... she has only a million-to-one chance of getting pregnant! Driven as ever, she enlists the services of South Philly working girl Angie Ostrowiski (Poehler) to become her unlikely surrogate. Once Angie's pregnancy is confirmed (by a hilarious Sigourney Weaver), Kate begins nesting and devouring any and all information she can on becoming a new mother. Things get a little more complicated, and a lot more funny, when Angie shows up at her doorstep with no place to live. Suddenly it's a new version of The Odd Couple—with a baby on the way, as detail-oriented Kate tries to turn free-spirit Angie into the perfect expectant mom. In a comic battle of wills, they prepare for the baby's arrival, but what they learn about is contributing to a family... and that's something you can't find in a book.
