As Walt Kowalski, a recently widowed, Korean War vet, the iconic star pulls no punches as an embittered, iron-willed man seething with resentment against a changing world—personified by his new neighbors, a family of Southeast Asian immigrants. But after Walt catches the neighbors' sons trying to steal his Gran Torino, a vintage car the retired autoworker helped build himself, the boy's family insists he work for Walt as penance, initiating an unlikely friendship that will change both their lives forever.
