Description
Director Wolfgang Petersen (The Perfect Storm) returns to familiar waters to helm this tightly paced, big-budget remake of the 1972 disaster classic. Like the original, the lives of the passengers and crew of a luxury ocean liner are turned upside down (literally) when a giant tidal wave flips the ship over as revelers ring in New Year’s Eve. This trip around, with state of the art special effects in place, a new cast of characters struggle to maneuver their way through a maze of pipes, stairwells and dead bodies to reach civilization in hopes of a rescue. And that’s where the similarities end. Kurt Russell, Josh Lucas, Emmy Rossum and Richard Dreyfuss headline as the handful travellers that try to survive.
